Essential Duties Include but are not limited to:
• Conduct rooftop inspections with roof consultant and structural/electrical engineers
• Provide technical support to sales such as array layout details, modifications, expected yields and possible design challenges
• Accurately design functional array as specified by client on AutoCAD or equivalent program
• Coordinate and provide customer education if needed
• Complete full site feasibility reports which will include shading studies, output calculations, onsite measurements, proposed product details, electrical design details, current state of rooftop and process’ to be completed for a fully operational solar (PV) array.
• Assist Project and Field Management staff with technical troubleshooting and design details
• Responsible to assist other staff determine the best possible array designs and materials to be used for each project.
• Develop and evaluate new products to increase value, reduce cost and improve reliability for PV systems for commercial, residential, and distribution divisions.
Education and Experience:
• At least 3 years of applicable experience performing technical work related to renewable energy and/or energy efficiency is preferable
• Any additional experience with electrical systems is preferred.
• Any post secondary courses in photovoltaic systems, or renewable resource applications is preferred.
Working knowledge of the Green Energy Act and FIT Domestic Content rules is mandatory
